Meet The Staff

Jay A. Canals, 
owner of AIC Painting with wife and business partner since 1996, thought that he did not want a career as a painting contractor after working with his fathers construction company since childhood. He explored other career options. He joined the military in 1983 where he served in both active and reserve status in the US Army Special Forces for over 10 years.  He also served the greater city of Tampa, Florida as a police officer for 4 years. He managed several Firestone Tire Stores and Western Autos from North Carolina to Florida for a while before coming full circle back to the mantenance service industry where he founded AIC Window Services. Not long after starting that company he diversified the companies range of services and began painting and offering multiple other residential and commercial services, thus the birth of AIC Services also known as AIC Painting.  A company capable of handling a wide variety of residential and commercial painting services and covering Central Florida. 

Jay worked with his wife to transform AIC from a small trade-oriented business into a large scale service-oriented company. Annual revenues increased from $200,000 to over $1 million in first 10 years of business.   

Jay has been instrumental in hiring and training master painters and tradesman for both companies so that he can devote his energies toward building the business. AIC's training and safety programs created by Jay ensure that the company tradition of excellence and quality workmanship is carried out in all its work.

An active member of the community, Jay serves on the Board of Directors and Pastors Council and heads up the Church Security Team for Sonrise Worship Center Church.   

A resident of Land O' Lakes, Florida Jay was raised in Tampa. He is married to Kimberly A. Canals Prather and has four wonderful children.  Jay is an avid fitness fanatic, divemaster and enjoys boating day's with his family and friends, traveling and cruising to pristine dive destinations.

Kim A. Canals, is the co-owner, vice-president of AIC Companies along with her husband Jay Canals of 17 years. Kim heads up all internal operations, scheduling and accounting for both companies.  Her ability to juggle being a mother, wife and company owner reflects her ability to provide the qualities that have made thier business successful throughout the years.

Luis Huerta, has been a supervisor for AIC for the past 10 years.  Luis has over 20 years experience in all kinds of paint finishes and is classified as a Master Painter.  Luis ability to manage jobs and crews has lead to the overall success and growth of AIC over the past ten years.  As a manager Luis has also demonstrated the ability to lead employees through the companies growth and diversified service programs over the past several years.
